call them?” To make a long story short every time she booked me for a job she asked me to call my friends, so I thought to myself ...hmmm... I could do her job, but how do I get started?

I knew I needed to meet other Casting Directors, so I accepted a job at Musical Theater Works as a receptionist. I attended all castings there, it was the best way to meet people in that field. After a few months, I had met almost every Casting Director in NYC. Now, the next step was to get them to hire me, so I told them that I would work for free. While interning for three different Casting Directors, I truly learn what casting was all about. The first person I met was Meredith Jacobs from Amerifilm casting. She casted TV commercials. I enjoyed it, but I found the clients to be very anal. The second person I met was Tracey Moore from Tracey Moore Casting. She gave me an experience I’ll never forget. I worked on my very first movie with Tracey, “New Jersey Drive”. It meant a lot to me working on that movie because I am from NJ, although the movie was shot in Brooklyn. The third Casting Director was Tracey “Twinkie” Byrd. At the time, she was casting music videos for her brother Jeff Byrd who, by the way, gave me my start in the business as well. Working on music videos was fun. It was quick, it was a day or two of work, the money was good and after my very first job with Twinkie which was the Positive K, “I Got a Man” video, I was hooked. I thought to myself, I found my calling.

It’s funny to hear them call her “Ms. Wendy”, mother of a 22-year-old son. It’s all love in NYC for this London, born beauty who has been in the business for over 20 years. “I love my career”, she says with pride. “I never dreamt my life would be this much fun! I’ve been around the world and back, working with artist from Al Green to Britney Spears. I help to make people’s dreams come true, while working from the comfort of my home. I can’t believe I get paid to do this.”

Q. How did you get started in the industry?

A. At 18 years old I was asked to be a model in a music video. While pursuing my modeling career, I met a Casting Director during a casting. I overheard her saying she needed more people for the shoot, I told her, “all my friends are cute, would you like me to
